Mourne Golf Club Open Week is always a highlight of the golfing calendar as golfers from across the island of Ireland took the opportunity to compete on the famous links courses at Royal County Down.
We give special thanks to Royal County Down once more for courtesy of both the Championship Links and Annesley Links last week as men and women amateurs played both courses during the course of the week.
The week kicked off with the dedicated Mourne Golf Club Classic sponsored by Motis for Mourne members and was won by Daniel and John Cunningham, Daniel Brogan and Colin Molloy, who won with 97 points in the team format.
From Monday onwards there were numerous men and women open competitions over both links courses, before competitors retired to the Mourne GC clubhouse where Denis and Trevor Orr covered the catering requirements while Ryan McGuirk and his bar team ensured golfers where replenished with refreshing drinks during as the glorious heatwave continued.
Organisers of Mourne GC Open Week give special thanks to all the sponsors who supported the week-long itinerary of competitions. Without their support, the success of Open Week would not be possible.
